Liability Insurance

What Does Liability Insurance Mean?

Liability insurance safeguards you against financial burdens if someone sues you for causing bodily injury or property damage. It covers the costs of legal defense, court judgments, and settlements that arise from such claims.

For example, if you accidentally rear-end someone’s car and cause them injuries, your liability insurance would cover the medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages they seek. Similarly, if your dog bites a neighbor, liability insurance would help pay for the medical bills and any legal fees associated with the incident.

It’s important to note that liability insurance generally doesn’t cover your own injuries or property damage. For this, you would need separate coverage, such as collision insurance for your car or Homeowners insurance for your home.

How Does Liability Insurance Work at PSIC?

At PSIC, we understand that life can be unpredictable. That’s why we’ve designed our property and vehicle insurance policies to provide you with comprehensive liability coverage.

When you purchase a Homeowners, Condo, Renters, or Motorcycle policy, among others, from us, liability insurance coverage is included as a standard feature. This means that if someone is injured or their property is damaged due to your actions or negligence, we’ll cover the costs of legal defense, settlements, or judgments up to the policy limits.

But we know that everyone’s needs are unique. That’s why we offer a variety of riders that you can add to your policy to customize it to your specific requirements. For example, if you have a furry friend, you can add an animal liability endorsement to protect yourself in case he or she accidentally bites a neighbor.

In addition to our standard liability coverage, we also offer Umbrella insurance. This type of policy provides an extra layer of protection by increasing the liability limits of your existing property or vehicle policy. If a claim exceeds your primary policy’s limits, your Umbrella insurance will cover the additional costs.

On the other hand, if you’re interested in liability coverage only, we offer Comprehensive Personal Liability insurance. These policies provide coverage for bodily injury and property damage caused by you or your family members, regardless of where the incident occurs.

At PSIC, we’re committed to providing you with the peace of mind that comes with knowing you’re protected. By understanding your specific needs and offering a variety of coverage options, we can help you create a policy that’s tailored to your lifestyle.
