The policyholder is the individual or entity that owns an insurance policy. They are the primary party involved in the contract and have specific rights and responsibilities as outlined in the coverage terms.
Also known as the insured, is the person who purchases the policy and is responsible for paying the premiums. They can also add more people to the coverage, such as their partner, children, and roommates, among others, but they will always be the primary insured. Additionally, policyholders have the right to make changes to the policy, such as adding or removing coverages, updating personal information, or filing claims when necessary.
As a policyholder, you need to ensure that you understand the coverage options in order to choose the one that best suits your needs. You will find all the information related to the policy in My Portal.
Remember that you will be the one receiving all communications related to the insurance. You are responsible for reporting claims, informing about relevant changes in the contract conditions, etc., and you will be the one receiving notifications regarding settlements, legal and financial assistance if requested, and more.
