Act of God

What Does the Act of God Mean?

Act of God refers to events or natural disasters that are beyond human control and are considered force majeure. Also known as acts of nature or catastrophes, include phenomena such as earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, severe storms, lightning, and other similar occurrences.

Insurance policies may include a clause for acts of God or force majeure events, which specifies that the company is not liable for damages or losses caused by these natural disasters. This means that the insured cannot file a claim to receive compensation for harms that occur as a direct result of a catastrophic event.

What Does the Act of God Mean at PSIC?

Standard Homeowners Insurance policies typically exclude catastrophic events like earthquakes, so this add-on ensures that your home and personal property are protected in the event of seismic activity, covering costs for repairs or rebuilding.

At PSIC we offer special coverage for Earthquakes and Floods, to protect against acts of God. These provide financial protection for your home and personal belongings and may include additional living expenses if your home becomes uninhabitable.

We also remind you to be cautious with severe weather. Follow these tips to avoid major damages.
