This company is truly a sum of its parts. Each and every one of you has had an integral role in building the momentum that we have heading into 2018. In looking back on the past year, 2017 was a time of change, of growth, and of improvement. We have made a conscious effort to revert our attention back to the producers and the policyholders. I am thankful for the progress that has been made and hopeful for the changes to come. As your CEO, I want to thank each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication this year. You all are the foundation of this great company and will continue to remain the key to our success in this business. Thank you for persevering through the challenging times and celebrating in the victories. 2018 will be a very exciting year where we continue to value those we service and refine the areas that need improvement.
Throughout 2017, our company rose to the occasion to meet the demands of a year filled with natural disasters, new company implementations, and changes to the internal structure of our leadership team. One of my proudest moments was seeing how our claims team snapped into action to assist customers throughout the Northern California fires. All total losses were paid in entirety within 30 days, an incredible feat that could only be accomplished with a synchronized, hard-working and dedicated team. These men and women went above and beyond their job requirements in order to provide physical, emotional and monetary support for those who have graciously chosen to do work with and rely on us. And for that, I thank you!
I am also incredibly proud of all of the hardworking individuals who helped to implement our beneficial new phone system. Customer service and interactions have been drastically improved and the feedback has reflected this success. Going hand-in-hand with our call center is our valued information technology department. Our IT team has been crucial in installing and maintaining new sophisticated computer systems that makes doing work quicker, easier, and more secure. Their ongoing efforts to progress all aspects of business have not gone unnoticed. The customer services and processing departments have also been a huge help with all of these new changes in being open to learning new systems and adapting to new protocols. We now have a tangible touch with our customers and consumer experience has been prioritized.
I would be remiss not to mention the intelligent and attuned individuals in product development. Each and every one of you deserves a round of applause for continually making new filings and improving products so that we can remain competitive and make sure we are providing our customers with the most up-to-date, advanced products on the market. You make it easier for our salesman and women, who are on the road 5 days a week calling on producers, to do their jobs. Our sales team continues to impress with their moxie and drive. I am truly grateful for all of the contributions you have made to this company.
And we cannot forget our wonderful people behind the scenes like our accounting team, our legal department and our human resources employees. Without you, none of us would be able to do our jobs. You protect us, make sure we continue to employ top-tier individuals, and balance the books that keep the lights on. I recognize your hard work and know that your offerings to this company are invaluable.
Finally, to the thousands of producers who make the conscious effort to choose to do business with us when they have countless other options…YOU are our premiere customers, our lifeline. We hope to continue to earn your trust and support throughout 2018 and beyond.
